What is Modern Revival?

Modern Revival is an intentional community, comprised of “circles” or groups of eight to twelve women that gather for three hours each month to share, listen, learn and play to create deep connections at the root of collective wellness. Modern Revival is founded on reclaiming real connection – we are reviving what real connection to the self and to other people looks like. It’s a space for emotional growth, intentional relationships and practical exercises that are fun and lean into the playfulness we were all born with.

We’re having real conversations and we recognize that there is an opportunity for all of us to learn and grow. At Modern Revival we believe we can all learn from each other’s experiences. There's something uniquely powerful about doing the work to grow yourself in the presence of other people.

Who is Modern Revival for?

Modern Revival is for women who are committed to growth and interested in developing deeper relationships and collective wellness. As Americans, we are most familiar with a culture that focuses on self-reliance, independence, the individual journey and individual responsibility at the expense of valuing, acknowledging and playing with the reality of interdependence and connection.

Is Modern Revival available virtually?  Or is it in-person only?

Modern Revival’s experience is all about the in-person dynamic – the energy and feeling that comes from physically being in a room interacting with others. Modern Revival currently hosts classes in Bethesda, Maryland and Los Angeles, California but please contact us if you're interested in joining an online circle.

How much does it cost?

$1,950 one-time payment OR
$540 quarterly ($2,160 total) OR
$190 monthly ($2,280 total)

Cost includes your one-year membership, all materials, and access to the Modern Revival Network.

Do you offer discounted pricing?

We offer flexibility in our pricing approach, so that our members can decide which payment cadence works best for them. We want Modern Revival to be accessible and offer financial assistance to those who qualify after review. Should you like to inquire about payment questions or financial assistance, please reach out to a member of the Modern Revival team.

Since Modern Revival is for women only, how will you handle gender-nonconforming applicants or anyone who identifies as anything other than cisgender?

Modern Revival is geared towards women but is ultimately for all people with a curiosity and appetite for collective wellness.

How can I join?

Right now, Modern Revival is building new communities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Those who are curious about the experience can sign up to try a single session.  If you’re ready to join a circle, apply today.  If you’re interested in joining a circle in Los Angeles, please add your name to the waitlist.

Do you accept anyone who wants to join?

While we’re focused on women in community, we want Modern Revival to be accessible to all and would love to hear from you if you’re interested in joining.  This work is not recommended for those who are in acute crisis.  WE PROBABLY NEED TO FLESH THIS OUT!

Why is Modern Revival for women only?

Modern Revival began with and is currently focused on women because we believe there’s always a need for more safe spaces for women. Modern Revival is geared towards women but is for anyone with a curiosity and appetite for collective wellness.

How do you handle conflict in a Revival?

To us, healthy conflict is an amazing opportunity to learn from.  Healthy conflict  encourages an environment of safety and trust.  In the unlikely event of unhealthy conflict, a Modern Revival facilitator will intervene and work to understand the best path forward.

How do you handle confidentiality?

Upon joining a Modern Revival group, each member signs group agreements that include a commitment to confidentiality.  This is also addressed during the first session.

What if I try Modern Revival and change my mind?

While we carefully screen and curate our groups, we understand Modern Revival may not be fit for everyone.  In the event you are unable to continue with your group, we ask that you work with a member of our team to transition out of your group, so as to not be disruptive to the other members.

What is your missed session policy?

We understand the people have to miss & groups find a way to keep you current… Our group agreements state that each member can miss up to two sessions and must communicate your absence to your fellow group members.  If you need to miss more than two, your group must decide how to proceed, as your absence impacts others.

What is your make up session policy?

We’re big on accountability within our Modern Revival community and to ourselves individually. If you miss a session and need to catch up on discussions & activities, we encourage you to connect with the members of your group. The best ways we’ve seen members catch up are by reaching out to other members of their group, reading the session’s notes and taking a moment to remember their intention and commitment to their practice.
